Quote of the Day

Jul 8, 2009, 11:00 AM EDT

“People think that just because you’re married to a baseball
player, that you’re dumb, that you’re a gold digger, that you’re an
ex-stripper. That’s not the way it is. I still haven’t met that one
girl.”

— Laura Posada, law school graduate, author and wife of Jorge and star of tonight’s “E: True Hollywood Story: Baseball Wives”, on breaking the stereotypes.

I agree that’s ridiculous, and that “one girl” doesn’t exist. To the
contrary, there are hundreds of baseball wives. Many of the
ex-strippers are very smart, many of the dumb ones are in it for love,
not money, and many of the gold diggers are very prim and proper. To
paint them with such a broad brush is simply unfair.
