That doesn’t make sense. And in any case, they pushed Joba back so Sergio Mitre wouldn’t be facing the Red Sox. Sounds more than fair to the fans, unless you want his 7.04 ERA and 1.913 WHIP facing the team who is 5th in the majors in runs scored.
Joba’s problems, against the Sox and against the Jays last night, are his own.

Not to say that he can’t pitch on regular rest, but it doesn’t appear to be hurting him too much. That first game out of the break, he had just as much rest as he did for the Boston game.

The Yankees came into the season with a plan for Joba, and they are sticking to it. That takes guts, and it is the right move. Yankees fans complain about it, but just take a look at the team they play today. The Jays are known for being hard on their starters, and have a whole gaggle of them with career threatening injuries.
