Hrmm that was weird, my comment got eaten. Anyway I wanted to say that it's nice to know that someone else also mentioned this as I had trouble finding the same info elsewhere. This was the first place that told me the answer. Thanks.

i imagine it must be hard to be part of red sissy nation these days. remembering how you talked smack last season when the yankees missed the playoffs, i don't feel that badly about the standings tho. red sissy nation seems to be settling comfortably back into the zone it was in for 86 years. at least it'll feel familiar.
we'll talk again on monday....

I pray the Yanks sweep the faltering Red Sox this weekend. Just so all those Sox fans can stop with all the whimpering and whining. Seriously, you guys all sound like wounded pigeons. Anyone venture to guess whose got the second highest payroll in the MLB? Excuses are like @$$holes, Daan, everybody got one.

Daan, Pettite came up through the farm system which makes 20% of their starting pitching home-grown. Add in Joba Chamberlain and your up to 40%. According to MLB.com, the Yankees have more home-grown players than the Red Sox do (56% to 48%) Tampa Bay was the AL champ over both Boston and New York last year, which goes to prove that big payrolls don't always win championships. The Red Sox have turned into the Yankees in one major respect: money. How much did you pay for Dice-K again?
Your days of playing the lowly, outspent underdog are over Sox fans. You have the 4th largest payroll at $ 121,745,999. You have a great team. Just shut up and enjoy the rivalry. Unless you are really that scared that the Yankees will run-away with the division this weekend.

When is the MLB going to even the playing, and prevent the Yankees from buying the division. They spend more on A.Rod then the compolete TB team. They spend millions on penalties for going over the salry limit, but they can afford it.The commisioner should veto all trades or contracts that put any team over the limit. All should play under the same limit, regrdless is they can afford to high taxes. They are literaly buying the pennant, and getting away with it. I doubt if 10% of the starters on the Yankees came from thier farm system.Yes, I am a BoSox far for over 60 years, and I hope tonight they kick the hell out of NY. Yankees have the best team money can buy, bottom line. Sour Grapes, you bet.I would like to have CC, A Rod, Texierra,Damon,in Boston as Red Sox. After this weekend, the Sox will be 3 1/2 back,so we'll see.
