A C, I’d respect your opinion more if you were a donut pro. Minaya made the only move available to him and it was a win-win for all involved parties.
Sadly I agree that the Met’s luck is of the variety where you can say that if it wasn’t for bad luck they’d have no luck at all. But that’s almost always been their story in all my years of following them.
I vote they exhume Frank Cashen from the grave and put him back in charge, he was the only GM who successfully built a winning roster.

I’ll keep my job as an IT System Admin … not that there’s anything wrong with working at Entenmann’s or Dunkin.
I didn’t say K-Rod (Francisco Rodriguez) doesn’t exist, I said they should not trade away heat. Also, unless Rodriguez never needs a rest and or is infallible or we’ll never have an extra inning game, why trade away heat?
The Yankess went with Goose Gossage and Sparky Lyle in the late 70s, that worked out well. Tommy John was dominant for quite a few years after his surgery… why trade away heat?
The 90s Yankess had Mariano Rivera and John Wetteland. Opponents had to have the lead by the 7th inning or the game was over… it was incredible having double closing power with heat.
Not to mention, what if next year Rodriguez goes down in the first week?
You do not trade away heat especially when Wagner was and should still be the closer and he wanted to stay in NY.
A happy player with heat is a winning combination….. now I’m off to buy a donut!

Johan Santana…I rest my case. Bone Chips huh? You can count on paying 412 million for 20 career Met wins..and they ran Seaver out of town for wanting 300,000. The Mets are the NY Knicks of MLB and Ive been a Met fan for 42 years

Dude….you must joking Billy Wagner can’t help the mets do anything but bust the budget with his 8 million dollar contract. It’s not like the Bo Sox are gonna make the playoffs with him, at least they pick up some of the tab. You know what I mean dude?

Just another example of what happens to a pitcher who is touted to tbe the next Cy Young/Mariano Rivera when he puts on the blue and orange. He can take his place next to Mo Vaughn. I know he was hurt but why does that seem to happen to the Mets most often

First of all, did you really just type out the same response twice? Who does that?
Second, didn’t you, just a few hours ago, argue the exact opposite thing when Wagner was saying he didn’t want to be traded? Or are you just looking for someone to argue with, no matter how badly you do it?
Back to the main issue, even if they just get a few innings out of him once in a while at this point the Sox need it. Their pitching has been breaking down of late, and even if it’s just for a closer and / or setup man it can’t hurt to have him right now.

Yeah, who cares about a closer for next year, why not trade away ‘heat’ heck, it worked for the Mets when they got ride of Nolan Ryan and Tom Seaver! It’s just smart baseball, DO NOT try to sign him, get rid of talent this year when he’s on the disabled list so he can mow down batters next year for another team… simply brilliant!
