		<description><![CDATA[Lidge&#039;s is right.  His best, most effective pitches are not thrown for strikes.  They are sliders that start in the zone and dive out. When he cannot locate his fastball effectively, hitters can lay off the sliders (or all low pitches) and eventually walk, or they pick a zone and tee off on meatballs thrown in the center third of the plate (misplaced fastballs and elevated sliders thrown in an attempt ot get a strike call).
Locating his fastball is crucial to his success, and he has been especially horrible with that out of the stretch.]]></description>
