		<description><![CDATA[Yeah, DeRosa is versatile.  He can&#039;t play 2B, 3B, or the OF well....or even at an acceptable level.  Yeah, that&#039;s versatile.  He can also strike out swinging at pitches out of the strike zone no matter how an at bat starts; I admit it, I haven&#039;t seen many players so skilled at getting themselves out while not seeing anything resembling a strike.
He&#039;s awesome.]]></description>

The versatility makes him a LaRussian dream (and, to be fair, really is helpful on a team that&#039;s playing an OF at 2B and carries 22 pitchers), while the power he&#039;s shown the past two seasons (.481 and .447 SLG the past two seasons, respectively) is nice if he&#039;s coming off the bench or playing 2B or, more rarely, SS.
Now, if he&#039;s playing 3B and being paid a premium for it, that&#039;s a problem. And if he&#039;s playing 3B and being paid a premium for it and hitting like April/May 2009 Big Papi, that&#039;s a real problem.
Surely Cardinals management has some super-complicated KEEP PUJOLS plan that this fits into?]]></description>
