I, acting as the GM for the Cubs will take Brad Lidge in exchance for our erstwhile closer Kevin Gregg. Who got screwed on this one??

What is in your favor, is that if the Philthys play the Cards by some chance for the pennant, they don’t have to worry about a closer, as the starters will probably close down StL. However what happened last year doesn’t count today. He is a losing pitcher, and will have to be replaced for the playoffs. The A-L champs will make mince meat out of him should he even be on the roster for the post season. It is all in his head, because he is much better than what his record shows. Maybe next year, he will have a perfect season again, but it will not help today.

Oh yea you are correct. He had ONE good season, anyway. Why did Houston get rid of him? I seem to remember he did have some slight problems at the end of last season, but recovered nicely. I don’t follows the Philthys too closely, but just try to keep up with the news.

If you followed this guys career, he was un-hitable in Houston until the playoffs where the great one (Sir Albert)took him deep to beat the Astros in game 6. They forced the final game 7 in StL. and Oswalt won for them. However, Lidge has never been the same and has gotten worse as the seasons passed by. Could he still be bothered by that gigantic blast off Alberts bat?
