Rowand is a solid defender, but he is an absolute bust at the plate for the Giants. Hasn’t hit 20 homers or driven in 90 runs since the Giants signed him and that was what they got him for. Great attitude and team player, but he is HORRIBLE in the clutch with runners on. Give the CF job to Eugenio Velez. Younger, faster, better hitter and just as good defensively.
Giants are a big bat away from winning the division. If they sign either Jason Bay or Matt Holliday, they will be much closer. Bay in LF, Velez in CF and possible Jose Torres in RF next year. Leave Ishikawa at 1B, sign Freddie Sanchez to play 2B, Get rid of another bust (Edgar Renteria) needs to go. Give SS to Juan Uribe, who flat out played Renteria. Leave Panda at 3rd base and move Posey into the starting catcher spot. He is a blue chipper.
