Moneyball and stats have made analysis unfocused wuth respect to guys who just flat out can play ball, are good team mates and compile more-than-respectable numbers. Buckner will be forever tainted by the 1986 series, but take that away, and with 300 more hits he is a Hall of Famer. Aparicio was one of the best all around shortstops ever, as was Vizquel.
