% of opponent’s HR’s Yankees gave up @ Yankee Stadium – 55.8%
Those dirty Yankees, cheating again by obviously building a stadium that aided them way more than their opponent! (insert eye roll)
Yes the new Yankee Stadium appears to be homer heaven. I say appears because one year is far too little data to be sure. (If you don’t believe me please explain how Angels Stadium goes from a HR park factor of 0.933 in 2008 to a 1.220 in 2009. New Yankee Stadium was a 1.261 this year.) However, the idea that the Yankees are somehow cheating and greatly benefiting from the propensity for HR’s is ridiculous. The numbers are clear, the wall in right-center field helped BOTH teams equally this year.

Any wind blowing out of this Yankee Stadium on any day means HR’s. This silly bandbox was designed to give up HR’s and has proven it’s point this year. Terrible deliberate stadium design by the do anything to win Damn Yankees.

Less balls in play = less chances for HR
