You would think Cole would remember the weather conditions during what, game 4 or 5 of the World Series last year?? It was raining by around 8:00 p.m. in Philly and they had to eventually postpone the rest of the game, but they couldn't play the game for another day or two because of the weather. If the game had been played earlier, say around 4:00 p.m. local time, the game would have been done and over with before any rains came.

Time zones, what are those silly things?? The answer is MONEY $$$$$. That's what baseball is all about. The fans are there only to supply the noise; TV supplies the $$$$$. TV pays for the commishoner and his flunkies.
The players, who are the guts of the game, are fed hokum re attendence, and of course recession(depression)and the fans are hit with a variety of gimmicks to steal their money.
Owners are still making money, even the so-called small market teams. Not as much as they would like, but when fans stay away due to lousy teams such as the Mets, they do have to lower the prices of some of their pricier seats. Even the wealthy Yankees are doing that dance.
Don't delude yourselves friends, baseball has always been about the long green and I don't mean the outfield grass. That never changes, names of players do, but their desires are always secondary to ownership. Commishes are merely paid tools of the owners. They are there mto insure that the profits are as large as can be had.

I don't understand when else the Phillies could've played that wouldn't be even MORE unfair to the other teams. Today there are 2 Pacific time zone games. Scheduling one of them at 2:00 means 10:00AM local time. Not happening.
Yesterday there was only 1 Pacific time zone game. But the other game had the Twins. Would it have been fair to condense their time off from Tues to Wed even more? No way. That game had to be as late as possible for their sake. (I'm sure TV just understands Yanks > Phils, and probably Twins > Rockies, but still...)
