Holliday was terrible in Oakland, was lousy with the fans, at spring training in Phoenix he acted like he didn’t want to be there, and performed like an arch mediocrity.

Ah the musings of the ignorant fan. Holliday was the best hitter on the A’s last year. The only player with a 120 OPS+ (125). Next closest was Rajai Davis at 112.

He isn’t worth double the major league minimum. He is not a fan favorite. Boras is a fool if he thinks someone Billy Beane threw under the bus and the A’s records improved in his absence… is going to get a decent check… well Boras can dream.
A’s fans are extremely loyal to players who recognize the people who show up at the park often, the people draping a banner with their name on it… the people in Spring Training who have flown from Arkansas for some early baseball, and get a dis…
