Yeah really! Brett needs to talk. Cole has done so much more for the Phillies then he will ever do. I don’t believe that Cole wants to leave Philadelphia. The Phillies seem like they are like brothers. Brett needs to leave things alone! Yes Cole maybe should have choosen another way of saying what he did but he didn’t. Things will blow over. Brett and Cole how about you put all of that energy into game six and bring the city another World Championship?

They’re both wrong. Hamels is wrong for saying something like that – who cares if he didn’t mean it the way it “sounded”? He said it. It’s out there. And he is making himself look bad, not the team. But what they don’t need right now is all of this. They need someone mentally here THIS YEAR. Not looking forward to next year already. Season’s not over yet! We saw that last night.
Brett Myers said what he said and everybody’s thinking it. The whole city of Philadelphia, the true fans, and probably the entire clubhouse. Hell, even Charlie Manuel was confused by Hamels’ statement. Who cares if he’s not the best player in the world – someone needed to say something. There may have been other things said, but this one was caught by press.
And seriously, who cares about the Easter Bunny right now? Philly’s harsh. Grow some balls.

Put yourself in his position, I’ve been there I start to play golf and perhaps at the first tee I goof a shot or shank as we call it or perhaps the approach shot was not played as it should then and only then I wish I had had a second chance, and this is what I believe he meant
I say Manuel go ahead and put him in to picch as you plan he will do very well

Hamels is a cry baby who should never touch the mound again. Being mentally ready for a game is just as important as being physically ready. Phils should make room for a lefty that actually wants to be there.
Hamels is gonna give us a sloppy game, and we’ll have him to thank for the lack of parade this year.

This is just a case of the media trying to make something out of not much. Cole has had a rough year no doubt. Not dismal but certainly no comparison to his 2008 MVP season. ALL he was saying is that he is ready to put 2009 behind him and straighten things out and move on. Was his timing poor, probably so. If called on in game 7 will he go out and give 100%? You bet. He’s a professional and a competitor so he’s not going to roll over and quit. As for Myers as a Phil’s fan I’ll be glad to see someone of his character walk out the door and not return. Couldn’t agree with you more Mo Green!!

Brett Myers is a gorilla in a man-suit, a bully, a jackass, and a moron. Charlie Manuel and many other Phillies have spoken with Hamels, they just didn’t do it in a grandstanding, bullying way in front of reporters.
Hamels spoke out of turn, from the heart, out of frustration. He knows he messed up.

I’ll be honest here, Brett Myers just said to Cole’s face what the entire freakin’ city’s been saying since that post-game 3 interview.
On the other hand, who the hell is Brett Myers? A total has-been, that’s who. Oh well, at least you get your parting shots when you can, right? Glad someone called Cole out on his attitude, though.

LOL That’s hilarious! Myers is definitely a stand up guy. Cole has every right to be tired. Anyone who has to face the Yankees in the World Series is going to be tired. Fairly tought to have all that weight as a 25 year old.. What is this, his 4th year?

Myers is right. Baseball is a mental sport and once you lose your confidence, you slump. Hammels has not been mentally tough this year at all. The guys in the clubhouse know it, Myers just got caught saying what everybody else is thinking. Bad Karma when Hammels takes the mound.

Brett Myers? You mean the guy who was arrested for punching his wife in the face outside of Fenway Park? The guy who pulled the most mean-spirited practical “joke” I’ve ever seen in my life on hayseed Kyle Kendrick, convincing him he’d been traded to Japan? The same Brett Myers who tried to knock out the Phillies’ beat reporter Sam Carchidi in 2007 while screaming he was a “retard”? The same Brett Myers who just injured his eye and claimed it happened during a game of catch with his 4-year-old son, then changed his story to say he fell out of a moving truck?
Oh good, just wanted to make sure we were talking about the same guy. Sure, lets use him as the litmus test for the Phillies clubhouse.
