Don’t you think that if you were really as great as you think you were, you wouldn’t have been bought by the Yankees unlimited bank account. That right there says it all, if the Yankees don’t want you, and you were a great pitcher, there’s a reason why the Yankees never even thought about obtaining your services, One: either you really weren’t as good as you thought you were, or Two: Your personality wasn’t up to the Yankees high standards. I believe, it was a combination of both reasons why the Yankees wouldn’t let you wear the Legendary Pinstripes. And, now, since you left MLB, you’re still the same little smhuck that nobody liked, not even your dog.

Relative to his peers, Pedro in Boston was the most dominant pitcher of all-time. That stint in Boston ranks as the top performance by a starting pitcher on any team. Without Pedro, there was no Championship. As far as I’m concerned, that qualifies him to rewrite the rules in any way he sees fit!!! He was written off again this year and was 5-1 for the Phillies and once again in the post season.
A steroid era pitcher with Koufax numbers!!! Unless he was juicing himself, there can be no debate that for 7-10 years he was best pitcher in baseball and all-time.

The joys of being “Curt” isn’t worth a Schilling. What a pompous a*hole! And to think how much I loved watching him pitch for the Phillies. He was my favorite player on the team and boy could he pitch……….Then reality sank in instantly when he made his choice for “W” known and went the road of Jim Bunning, another ex-Phillie hero of mine who is a few bagels short of a happy meal (even the GOP is having trouble getting rid of him) Hey Curt, glad your a Republican. There isn’t room in my party for a windbag like you. As for your comments on Pedro…..who is still pitching, pitching well, and winning ball games!!!!!! It sure isn’t you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Schilling is supplanted only by Roger Clemens circa 1993-1996 in the athlete who most obviously got a pass for letting himself go category. He had just signed a huge contract, came into spring training with seven chins, thus beginning the twilight of his career. Then he discovered lidacane and B-12 shots, and had a random late career resurrence–twice.

I meant competition as a media figure/personality. Randy Johnson is notoriously taciturn to the point of surliness. Pedro, in contrast, was of interest to the media and got a lot of attention for his personality. My admittedly amateur theory is that Schilling likes to be the only one like that in the room at any given time.

Pedro has the greatest career difference between his era and the league era. Better than Koufax. He was that much better than the league. Schilling had some great postseasons, but otherwise nowhere near as accomplished. I lost all respect for Schilling when he was questioned following a WS victory, and exploited the opportunity to put out a political opinion.

Technically Rivera does, but I know what you mean. (I believe Wagner comes in 2nd, but doesn’t have the IP to qualify).
