It’s about time!! Posada visits the mound every other pitch–my God, he makes the game at least four hours long!! Baseball moves to slowly for many to be able to watch the whole game–this would be welcomed change in my eyes.

So save for G6, every game was almost the exact same time, and not even close to 4 hours. Blame Fox for the absurd commercial breaks, not Posada.

There are so many reasons a catcher might need to speak to a pitcher, that it couldn’t possibly work, and would cause more problems than it tries to solve. Maybe a max per at-bat, but not per inning.

It was never an issue before Selig (BS). Some of the greatest managers were brilliant when it came to slowing the game down, I feel leave the game alone if you want a faster pace watch hockey.

I don’t think you want to hamstring the pitcher or dilute the strategic flexibility of the game all that much, especially in the Designatedhitterball League where they don’t really play baseball anymore anyway; it’s already more like a mammoth hunt over there, with nothing but apelike hominids with big clubs in silly looking pajamas.
As far as letting the base umpire call the checked swing, anything that further emasculates and humiliates the home plate umpire works for me.
