I have just one question, but it’s an important question. How is a ‘mediocre all-around first baseman’ also ‘a decent fit for contenders’ whether for a long or short-term fix? Shouldn’t contenders aim higher?
Seven million sounds like a lot of ducats to give to a 1B who has averaged 17 HR’s per 162 games over his career. And with a lifetime UZR/150 of minus-0.4. Hits like J.T. Snow, fields like the Giambino.
