Please tell me how the Sox disrepected Varitek? Theyre giving him more money and more playing time this upcoming season than any other team would. He simply is not an everyday player anymore and thats why they went out and got Victor.

Patrick is correct. The Red Sox have the horses they are just missing the secret sauce. They had the ‘togetherness’ a few years ago. Now they play like individuals, and disrespecting Tek does not help. They need to look south to New York and see how the Yanks all pulled together this year.

Ken Rosenthal wishes his beloved Red Sox would trade for Miguel Cabrera, but that won’t get his favorite team a championship. Why not try doing some unbiased reporting for a change, Mr. Rosenthal. Must be people are tired of hearing the whining that the Yankees bought a championship. Buying high-profile players sells tickets and ad spots. The Red Sox have much larger holes to fill like: needing a shortstop, a JD Drew replacement, and a strong bullpen.
Besides, Youk plays third, VMart plays first, and that leaves Varitek (the team captain) with an actual starting position. You will never catch the Yankees disrespecting their captain like that. Varitek deserves better from the team he led to the ring.
