And Jason Bay’s defense is that bad that his WAR is only 3.5? Yikes.

I have to question the wisdom of the grading system that ranks Felipe Lopez as fourth highest rated free agent. He has been a bust at so many major league locations. Ask the Nats and the Cards as to his value especially in the clubhouse!

The reason Lopez is so high is that his position typically has a low average, also WAR has adjustments for position-2b are valued above OF, 1b, and DH. And he did have nice defensive skills and a very good OBP last season.
