I would love to see Smoltz return to Atlanta and be here, when Bobby Cox retires.
Smoltz only needs a few more saves to really have equaled his success as a started, in the bull-pen.

The Mets? Give me a break, please. Listen, even if Smoltz does have something left in the tank, ( a big if), why would the Mets go that direction. After years of signing aging, former superstars, wouldn't you think they finally learned their lesson? Even if he DOES have a year left, what possible difference could it make for this franchise? They need pitching, pitching and pitching, but he won't make the difference. They need YOUNG pitching. Not to mention a left fielder, a first baseman, a utilty infielder who damn well better be able to play shortstop when Reyes goes up in flames again, and at least a platoon in rightfield (I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on Francouer, but am not a believer in him either). Did I mention they need pitching?

Every American League team with their dipstick in this better cut bait and hightail it out of there. Smoltz is not built to pitch in AL, just like that flop of a pitcher Brad Penny. If he does indeed go to an AL club it will most likely be Souvenir City.
