This is quite literally the first instance I have seen of Jason Bay being called a good, much less "great," defensive player. Good to know that someone, even an anonymous internets person, believes.

Jason Bay is an excellent baseball player. Great defense, speed and can hit with power. He does have some chinks in his armor. He strikes out too many times. He has trouble with the outside portion of the plate and swings at pitches that are 6 to 10 inches off the plate. Along with his high strikeouts he needs to hit at least 45 home runs a year. If he lays off the outside pitch he can easily hit 45 home runs during the season and increase his RBI totals. The Red Sox should try everything possible to sign Jason Bay to a solid contract.
