That’s the only reasonable explanation for leaving off an obviously great player I’ve heard (though “reasonable” is clearly debateable when you can find 11 players on one ballot that you think are worthy of the HOF)

Alomar is one of the best, if not the best all-around 2B who ever lived. If this guy is worried about voting for him “on the first ballot”, he doesn’t understand that this is not a criteria for inclusion to the HoF. He should be stripped of his voting privileges, as this is totally absurd.
