Dang it. They edited the story so it's more accurate now. I traced that rumor back and was going to write about how Nightengale's tweet, perhaps mixed with one from Joel Sherman, and some very goofy misunderstanding marinated the ridiculous Granderson and Jackson to the Yankees rumor that were at the linked story. Now that it's edited, my idea wouldn't seem to make much sense. Oh well.

If it is just a rumor so be it, Granderson makes sense and I would welcome him with open arms. We could slide him into Damon's spot behind the Cap'n and let Damon go and sign his multi-year deal. It would be sad see Johnny D leave but Scott Boras may make that happen anyway, the Yanks don't want to do a multi-year deal with Damon and Granderson is a good top of the order hitter and he is younger.
Edwin Jackson on the other hand could be used as trade fodder and would do o.k. replacing Bruney who we lost to the Nationals. I can't honestly see Jackson on the opening day roster, however the Tigers maybe tying both of them together in a package to try to deal with their payroll expectations.

If they trade for Edwin Jackson, he will definitely be called one of those "couldn't take the New York pressure" guys, when in fact he just wasn't that great in the first place.
