The Mets want Gil Meche

Dec 7, 2009, 8:10 AM EDT

Joel Sherman of the Post is reporting that the Mets and Royals are in serious talks about Gil Meche.  According to Sherman, Omar Minaya and Dayton Moore have already had several conversations about this before the Meetings, and plan to continue those talks here.  But don’t get your hopes up, Royals fans: Omar has already told Moore that he’s not taking Jose Guillen in any trade, so if this happens it won’t involve the unloading of any excess baggage.

Under normal circumstances any trade involving either Moore or Minaya would be a perfect opportunity for a fleecing. A trade involving both just seems like a disaster.

Omar you lack vison and a touch of evilness. This would be the right time to grab J. Guillen and flip him in a 3way trade with the Cubs and the Rays. Care less which one gets which one has to eat his contract. As long as you get something you need from it.
Just remenber, the Rays need the bat. And $$ room. So offer to take, 1st base man C.Pena growning Pay check. Add in your young under control 1st base man. Stiff the cubs with C>G>.. And take Gil Meche.
Ok. add a young pitcher. like Maine into it for K.C. you got the parts use them.
