Jason Kendall is not bright

Dec 8, 2009, 11:00 AM EDT

Random conversation overheard in the hallway here at the Meetings:

“So Melvin tells Kendall’s agent — ‘I got $2 million to pay a catcher. You let me know if you want it or not.’ Kendall thinks he’s worth more than that and says no.  Jesus, what the hell does that guy think he’s worth? He thinks he’s gettin’ a number one job someplace?”

I agree with the guy 100%.  And then I read that the Royals might give him a starting job. Oy vey.

Oy Vey? Never realized Calcaterra was a jewish name. C’mon now, you don’t think a line of .241 .331 .305 .636 is great? Don’t forget the two (2) HRs he hit both last year and ’08. How about the tremendous throwing arm? He threw out 20% last year, only 80% of base stealers were successful against him! And all he wants is 5 million a year? I agree with you. Mazel Tov!

Even more hilarious is where he hit those two HRs – Coors Field and Minute Maid Park.
