I agree. The yanks are the only ones willing to fork out Tex money/years. The Sox might go $20 mill per year but they won’t offer more than 4 years. I like Bay, but he isn’t worth the money he’s asking for while Holliday is a tremendously better fielder/hitter combo.

No one would mistake Matt for a gold glover at a critical defensive position like first base like Tex. In fact if Holliday catches that chest high fly ball against the Dodgers,which I am sure he would tell you he should have caught, the Cardinals go back to St Louis even and have every chance to face philly. He is the only player available to protect Albert properly. If the bottom dollar is all that matters to him and not world championships which are definitely possible with this Cardinals team given the pitching they have online and down the road, then screw him, he doesn’t belong there anyway. He is from Oklahoma and ought to be able to afford something nice for his family for 18 million per.

Something tells me this may be Boras’s Waterloo. It is hard to give Teixeira money to anyone if you are not the Yankees. And I do not think the Yankees are bidding.

Assuming that he makes the 670 plate appearances he made this year, at $12 mill that’s $17,910 per and at $20 mil, that’s 29,850 per; either way WE lose.

Well, it seems that Boras is predictable. Now Holliday can go to the Yankees or Beantown or anywhere else. At least the redbirds won’t get him. I think the Dewitts are too cheap to pay more than that. Remember, they are from Cincy, and we know them well.
