I have been a Philly fan for more than 60 years. I don't need to tell anyone that the Phillies have not always been successful. What's this obsession about winning all the time? My idea would be to keep the most promising prospects developing in the farm system, and build a future around them. I would try to get Halladay for 2010, and see what happens in 2010 with Hamels, Lee and Halladay. If the team wins with them, fine. If is doesn't, that's fine, too. Let them go if it means building a bigger stadium, raising ticket prices for fans like me on fixed incomes. Take a longer view. Richie and Steve and Mike are gone, but some kids in in little league will take their places.
