Lackey, Sox reach tentative agreement

Dec 14, 2009, 4:25 PM EDT

Jayson Stark and Jerry Crasnick are reporting that the Red Sox have reached a tentative deal with Lackey, and that it’s “worth slightly more than the $82.5 million, five-year contract A.J. Burnett signed with the New York Yankees last year.” This jibes with what Aaron was hearing earlier.

Lackey. Matsui. Halladay. Lee.  Remember this morning when I said that nothin’ was happening today?  Yeah, forget that.

Its all about sitting at the poker table, the red sox are all in with their deal with Lackey, the phillies raised to the pot in their 3 way deal to get to Halladay, and now its up to Cashman and the WS Champion yanks to finish the hand by making his move.

Lackey will grind out innings saving the bullpen. As a #4 Pitcher, with Dice-K slipping to #5. Oh ya,!! DIce-K is in Arz working out trying to be in the best shape of his life.Mmmmm, nice dreaming of maybe one of the better starting 5s in all of bb next year.
