Vincent Schiavelli managed to get himself into some amazing movies, and no, I'm not talking about Death to Smoochy.
He had bit or supporting roles in the following films, ordered chronologically ... drumroll please ... The Great Gatsby, One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, Night Shift, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Amadeus, Better Off Dead, Ghost, The People vs Larry Flynt, and even got into a Bond flick in Tomorrow Never Dies. Pretty impressive resume, with too many tv appearances to mention. R.I.P.

Has anyone estimated Dusty Baker's negative value in terms of the cumulative net losses of the pitchers he's (mis)managed?
As a refresher, on May 25, 2008 he used the previously pretty good and durable Harang in an 18-inning game... for four innings and 63 pitches... on 2 days rest. If you want to be positive I guess you could say that since then, he's fared better than Mark Prior.

Craig, this is why you are the best: Vincent Schiavelli references. Was his career peak Dr. Kaufmann in "Tomorrow Never Dies", or Lanny in "X-Files"?
Anyway, the NL West as a whole has been pretty quiet this offseason. Only Arizona has made a big move (and I think getting Jackson plus Webb's return will make them very tough in the 3 pitcher's parks out here).
If the Dodger's are limited to making Harang type moves, then it could be a good year for the Rockies, who seem set. The Giants need a bat, and the Padres need a strategy.
