Sign nick Johnson, get GOOD pitching and let Damon go. He’s too much money, and the Yanks don’t need him. Nick Johnson is just as good. He just needs a good team to play with, and he’ll get better!

letting go damon would be the dumbest thing the yankees could do. he had a great year power wise. and he is still one of the fastes guys in baseball. and he can still play defense and is average errors a season is 5 that is better then any other out fielder in baseball i think if he wasnts a 4 year deal then he has earned the yankees respect and trust.

in my opinion Brian Cahsman is one of the wrost baseball owners in baseball.Granted Matsui is is gettin old and cant be in the field much but he had 28 homeruns with 95 RBI last season. plus he had 2 homeruns in the 6 of the series. i think that earns you a position next year. and i dont think the kurtis Granderson deal will work. he is a fantastic player and he has shown that time and time again but i hope im wrong i hope he comes in and does awsome things for the Yankees.

Craig, before your Braves go for Johnson and hand him the first baseman’s job, remember that he’s going to spend about a third of the season hurt.
Jeff, zero chance that Johnny Damon would go back to KC; he made it publicly clear that he couldn’t get away from there quickly enough.

Boras thinks that because the Yankees are the richest team that he can get them to bid against themselves. I hope this Johnson thing is just to put some pressure on him to get the Damon deal done. Nobody is crazy enough to give Damon 3 years (well maybe Kenny Williams or Dayton Moore, but that’s about it), so he better get busy with the Yankees before they get busy with Johnson…

I can see little sense in the Universe HAVING a designated DH (pardon the redundancy). Even though Godzilla is gone and if Johnny comes back (still thinking 2Yr/23M), let’s count the games:
Posada 60 as DH
ARod 20
Jeter 15
Damon 30
Whatever the count, three quarters of the season could be covered. And ’11 will be more incumbent using a rotating DH.
So keep talking, or even sign Johnson just to give Boras some agita.

Great move if they can sign him and forget all about Damon, he had his chance but he wants a 4 year deal, let him go shop that around to the other teams.
