Hey Steve! For your edifaction, the Yankees only take the best of the best! Every player in MLB wants to wear the Legendary Yankees pinstripes, but only the very best get to put the pinstripes on. The Yankees completed the biggest trade of this off-season by obtaining Granderson. We’ve been wanting him for some time now, and finally we were able to get him, withot losing any of our starting lineup, in other words, the New York Yankees braintrust out smarted yet another team out of their best player, for little or nothing. Now, after this season coming up, the Future Hall of Famer Andy Pettite will most likely be retiring, opening a spot on the Yankees starting rotation that will be filled by the Mega Free Agent Cliff Lee. But, we’ll talk about that AFTER the Legendary 27 Time, World Series Champions, New York Yankees brush aside any and all challengers to win their 28th World Series, and have yet another 2 million plus person Ticker Tape Parade down the Canyon of Heroes and some more Keys to the Greatest City in the World handed out to the victorious New York Yankees. Now, that’s the way to open the biggest and best new Shrine to greatness, that can only be rivaled historicaly by the Roman Colisieum. Whatever positive strides the Mariners had accomplished in their drive to beat the Angels in that division, they just ruined it with this deal. Bringing this cancer to Seattle will cause them a Safeco-sized headache.

I hope Milton finds some inner peace though. For a multi-millionaire, he’s one unhappy dude.

Jaime, did you see any of the Cubs games on tv? Milton Bradley is not average in the outfield, he is absolutely brutal in the outfield! I feel sorry for the Seattle fans. Hopefully Junior and Figgins can keep Bradley’s head on straight, otherwise you might as well call it a year now. Good riddance to bad news.

WTF? The Mariners were doing such a nice job the last couple weeks? They massively upgrade their own roster while watching their chief rival lose two of its best players. I think I can at least speak for the rabid USSM/Lookout Landing part of Mariners fandom when I say that I have no problem with Bradley taking ABs away from Junior at DH. Griffey was resigned to be a good club house influence and be, essentially, a mascot, not to be the everyday DH.
We still need a 1b (Gamel? Branyan? Luke Scott?), but I bet the typical lineup will be Michael Saunders in LF and Bradely at DH. Griffey is a bat off the bench at this point in his career, not the everyday starter.

Why don’t the Cubs do a deal, Bradley for Vernon Wells? Bad contract for worser contract . . . but at least Wells can still play the field and hit when his head’s right.

If Bradley behaves and puts up a .370+ OBP, that’s an amazing return for Carlos Silva. He’s actually a pretty average outfielder (according to UZR, anyway), but if the Mariners don’t think he’s good enough they can use him in a DH platoon with Griffey and still sign someone else for LF (since this doesn’t raise their payroll a dime).
