MASNSports.com reports that the Nationals have agreed to terms with free agent starter Jason Marquis. No word yet on the details, but we’ll have an update as soon as more information becomes available.

This is a good signing for the Nationals. Not because Marquis is some great pitcher, but because he will eat innings, and help a lot of the younger guys. Think about it, pudge Rodriguez and Marquis mentoring so many young pitchers. Things like that should improve the pitching staff. But improving from a 5.70 team ERA, league worst, even a few points might mean we stink just a little less.
