I agree, Kei Igawa was Brian Cashman’s finest moment.
I doubt though that Craig and Nomaas.com will dare point out Cashman’s many bad moves.

Very true Joe but at the same time, at least with Tex and CC, those guys aren’t yet 30. Add in Cano, Granderson, Joba, Hughes and Montero who’s still in the minors and it’s not just one guy. They’ve got a nice balance of veterans and youth. If they continue along the path they’ve been on they’ll essentially stay young forever but I would like to see more high-end prospects coming out of their system and being incorporated, much like you see with Boston’s pitching or Tampa’s position players.

The danger is that at this rate, the Yankees will consist entirely of teenagers by 2020. Though knowing Cashman, they will all be clones of the current stars.

They gotten better at this, but the getting younger is partly because they are at the beginning of the spending binge. 2005 represented the end of their previous binge, and replacing one guy like Brown with one guy like Hughes will amount to about 2 years per average pitcher. Once guys like ARod, Tex, CC, etc., start hitting the end of their contracts, they’ll look a lot older.
