Congrats to the Reds, didn’t see that one coming. At least the jays gave it a shot. Things have been going pretty well this offseason for them, as well as you can expect for a team that is going to lose close to 100 games. Someone was bound not to work out.

I don’t think Aroldis will have a problem. A daily helping of Skyline Chili five ways with a bowl of oyster crackers and he’ll have the horsepower to go the distance every time. Anyway, if he doesn’t work out for the Reds, he can always wander down to the Bengals’ training camp this Fall and see if he can throw a football. After the way Palmer threw during the last two games, how much worse could he do?

What don’t you see? 6 Mil a year is not too much for any MLB team. I don’t see anyone signing a pitcher with good ability for less than that. Even KC can afford this man. the question is: How long will it take for him to play at MLB level?

I could be very wrong, but I just don’t see it being Cincinnati. The team really hamstrung itself when it made the Rolen deal, and the off-season renegotiation/extension of Rolen’s contract was designed to give “salary relief” this year, not provide for anyone else. They would have to get rid of one of their higher-priced players (Harang, Arroyo, Phillips, Cordero) at a discount in order to either afford Chapman or admit that they’ve been lying (no!) to the fans.
