FanHouse’s Ed Price tweets that the Mets have scouted Carlos Delgado a handful of times as he plays in Puerto Rico this winter, and that he’s “not moving well.” One would think that this would preclude his return as a first baseman.
Price suggests that the Blue Jays have scouted him as well. If Price’s source is accurate, the DH appears to be in whatever is left of Delgado’s future.

Ummmm. And when was the last time Carlos Delgado “moved well”? Hint: Bill Clinton threw out the first ball that year.

And what was Clinton doing throwing out the first pitch in Toronto – keeping Monica on ice?

Here is the reason the mets should sign Delgado-
He has 473 homeruns. This season he will do everything in his power to get to 500 homeruns. The Mets would be very happy to get 27 homeruns at first base/DH during inter leage for the entire season.
Besides as a Mets fan and patron of Citifield I would love to follow the Delgado HR count all season. I think it will sell tickets even if they are out of the race.
