The top dollar for Damon will be in the 4-5 Mil area. He is damaged goods, too old and teams know that. So, we will wait until Spring, and see who gets him for the least amount of money.

That’s the thing about Scott Boras. He’s not afraid to throw out the “mystery team” gambit, thereby looking like a fool, but still managing to pull the wool over some owner’s eyes and score his client a massive payday. You gotta respect that.

While I was afraid that the Braves would try to be in on some two year, $20 million thing with Damon back in the fall, I would be quite happy with a one year or a lower dollar two year commitment to the guy. Just gives them so many more options and some offensive punch that they desperately need.
