They already have Michael Bourn. What the heck do they need him for? A team that needs some speed should grab him. Maybe the Cubs or Cards.
And wasn't Taveras a funk band in the 70's? I asked that earlier on this blog.

they must be beyond desparate to sign this loser!he will be great for them as long as they don't expect him to you know to get on base or play defense.did they not see what a absolute disaster he was with the reds last year? why would anybody pay this guy to be on their team?he has had what 1 maybe 2 average years in the majors but because he is fast everybody wants him?what good is it to have all that speed if you never get on base? he misjudged so many balls in centerfield last year it painful to watch, turning routine fly balls into doubles and letting in god knows how many runs.still can't believe the a's were stupid enough to take him off the reds hands.ok they did not get anything for him but he is off the team which is all that matters!

Houston doesn't have any youngsters to hand the 5th outfielder job to, unless you count 26 year old former pitcher Brian Bogusevic and his stunning .707 AAA OPS. The Astros are basically going to be treading water until their recent draftees get to the big leagues, so it's not that big a deal. And while Wade may have a history of questionable moves, he's not the reason the Astros are in trouble. The abysmal 2002 to 2007 drafts are the reason the Astros are in trouble, along with the Jennings and Huff trades. All of those took place before Wade. I'm not saying Wade's the GM of the year or anything, but he's actually doing a pretty good job of rebuilding the farm system. It's just all the talent is in the low minors and not able to contribute this year.
