Yadier Molina is in the best shape of his life

Feb 15, 2010, 5:45 PM EDT

Because once you start something you just can’t stop, here’s Joe Strauss of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch tweeting from spring training:

Dept. of First Impressions: Yadier Molina looks in best shape I can remember.

If one reporter would write “Just saw [Player X]; he looks like he hasn’t lifted anything heavier than a bottle of Old Grand-Dad this winter” I would die a happy man.

please, Craig, for the love of god, please stop this “best shape of your life” bit. it was kewl the first few times. now it’s like regurgitating 3 week old seal blubber.
think back to the days of shyster ball, relax, breath deeply and think of bikini babes.

Jeff Francoeur ruined your Spring Training Spirit, didn’t he? Scrooge.

I remember Trot Nixon saying that when he joined Cleveland, that he was in the best shape of his life. He probably didn’t mean much by it, but, as a Red Sox fan, it certainly lowered my opinion of him. We paid him good coin, he got injured a lot, and now I find out that he wasn’t in great shape?
