Sabathia welcomes Granderson with a bit of a truth stretch
Feb 16, 2010, 12:42 PM EDT
CC Sabathia, on new teammate Curtis Granderson:
Hopefully he’ll hit like 50 homers in our stadium. He was always a tough out for me.
If you’re curious, for his career Granderson is 3-for-19 (.158) with seven strikeouts and zero walks against Sabathia. In fact, 115 different batters have had at least 20 career plate appearances against Sabathia and Granderson has the third-worst OPS, ahead of only Bengie Molina and Angel “Tough Out” Berroa.

A no-brainer, since Sabathia is left handed.

to be fair, he said he was a tough out, not that he didn’t actually get him out… though i’m just playing devil’s advocate.

Granderson hits lefties worse than I do. Maybe he should try swinging his wallet instead of a bat.

Well, maybe he liked him so much it was tough mentally, to strike him out. But had to do what he had to do obviuosly…
You know, even though he’s a stormtrooper for Stien-Vadar I can’t help but like C.C. He just seems like a genuinely nice guy.

But they were all line drives right at Johnny Damon.

When CC played here in Cleveland, he was a class act all the way. Still miss him here but wishing him the best in New York.
