Not to slap this reporter (D.J. Short) or JBerardi in the face here but if he goes out for awhile the Braves STILL have a surplus of pitching. Lest we forget Kris Medlen who has already been slated to open the season in Triple-AAA just so the Braves can have his arm lengthen out in the event of an injury. That coupled with 6 major league starters was the reason that the Braves traded Javy Vasquez. (Not to mention he hasn’t put up back-to-back winning season since …… ever.)

One wonders why he has to go back to Atlanta unless he’s expected to go straight from the MRI/consultation with team physicians to surgery. It’s not like Orlando doesn’t have MRIs too.

Remember, whenever you team has more than five starting pitchers on it’s roster, it is an [i]absolute imperative[/i] that you trade one of them away. After all, since no team has ever used more than five starters in the course of a season, the sixth one is just a waste of roster space. This is basic stuff…

He's already had his wife lock him in the closet tonight like the werewolves in Skinwalkers against the moment when he has to face the reality of Johnny Damon's five-year, $40 million contract with the Tiggers. And this without having ingested any lycopene - or did he maybe knock off a brace of Bloody Marys when he first got wind of the deal?
