Chipper Jones on the NL East

Feb 22, 2010, 3:25 PM EDT

Asked this morning about all of the young talent in Atlanta, Florida and Miami, Chipper Jones said that “in the next few years you’re gonna see this division invert.

Given that the Braves have finished in third place for three of the last four seasons, this is a rather pessimistic take on his own ballclub, because an inverted division still means third place.  But hey, I guess that puts the Mets in line for the wild card.

Well, if he has any classic psychology in his education, at least we know he’s not a homophobe – unless you left off the rest of the sentence, which was something like “and thank God I won’t be here to see it.”

Lol!!! what is he coming down with now? ESP? That’ll be sure to bring his OBP back up again. Look out NL east pitchers Chipper has ESP!!! That is if he can stay HEALTHY…….

Last I checked, the young talent in Florida and Miami would put them in the same location

Only if Miami had metastasized like a HeLa cell cluster and spread throughout Florida. Regardless. I think the Americans would put up a determined resistance at the border; whether we could even penetrate as far north as Pembroke Pines is speculative.

Maybe it was a Freudian slip–many us on the other side of the state often joke that Miami is it’s own entity seaparate from the rest of Florida.
