Not everyone on the list has gotten on the faux outrage bandwagon, but…every last one of the HoF voters by rule have been BBWAA members for 10+ years–so, except for a few first-time voters this last December, ALL of the Hall voters were baseball writers during the homerun chase of 1998.
I would love it if one of them “came clean” with what they did or didn’t know and why.

AKA, the Yankee sense of entitlement. There is a whole of people that wonder where the press was in the 90s when steroids were rampant, but when the posterboy for PED usage gets nailed, it’s ‘aw, please leave the nice guy alone’.
As a RA fan, if Papi gets caught going to an HGH dealer, the press has my full blessing to blast him and the RS FO.

Tough to be a sportswriter. Failure to report on steroids in the 90s gets you lambasted. Reporting on ARod seeing the olde HGH doctor gets you lambasted.

All right, you and Jonny 5 break it up. The original post was about Idiot O’Conner having to earn his pay as a reporter/commentator, which he invariably cannot do in any sport. Newsday and the Record have to make themselves into a high-falutin’ metro newspaper, so they both try one-upmanship in hiring “big-name” columnists, with mixed results.
We should not encourage O’Conner at all cause he’ll turn into a Lupica-like political political analyst and who knows what will happen in the short duration before Christie sits on him.

I know the answer to this question but it would be nice to know the day these “sport” writers get off their high horse’s and stop trying to act all concerned and outraged and how they feel cheated that so and so player cheated, and how the world is gonna end because these guys did steroids because obv steroids is the worst thing anyone could do and…oh nevermind, im just gonna go bang me head against the wall because its more enjoyable then reading this nonsense for the upteenth time

Not for “my” Job. For A-rods “job”. Which so far is to collect one of the biggest paychecks anyone in this country will see this year, for playing a game, that’s actually fun. And yes, it does entitle the media to drag his name wherever they choose (obviously), whether it be through the mud or through the heavens. It’s not the Medias fault that A-rod makes it easy for them to drag his name through the mud though. He was the one shooting roids, he’s the one that went to canada for god knows what treatment, unknown to the Yankees btw. He’s the one who poses for magazine articles kissing his own reflection. Baseball and the media go hand in hand bro, at the end of the day, it’s all about entertainment.

Why? Doesn’t it entertain you? I mean you Yankee fans kinda sound like the Fans of Michael Jackson after he got caught feeding little boys alcohol and showing them gay porn, Ahem etc…. He will not be left alone. A-rod is getting the double edged sword of being one of the best in the world of sports, it just so happens he hasn’t kept his nose clean and we’ll hear all there is to hear about it, from every angle. Don’t worry. He’s being more than fairly compensated when it’s all said and done.

LMAO! Wow! This guy seems genuinely angry here. Strange, You’d think he was yelling at his own son, trying to exaggerate the consequences of taking a PED. First of all A-rod “cheated” no one but clean players he opposed. Strange he mentioned everyone but the players as being “cheated”. As far as A-rod cheating himself??? I wonder has Ian O’Conner ever made 30 million a year? Has he ever had Kate Hudson in the most perfect positions a man could have her in? or one of the other handful of models he’s known to uhhh, “date”. A-Rod “cheated himself” ? I think not. I think it’s more of a deep rooted hate for someone who most obviously has a much, much, much better life than poor Ian does..

YankeesfanLen, I wrote a post about this yesterday and I said that no matter what it would be A-Rod who got treated the worst out of all the players that were interviewed in this newest mess. Already O’Connor has proven me right, it does not matter who else is interviewed, accused or perhaps even charged all that will be written is that A-Rods’ name was brought to light. I’m telling you they actually HATE the guy. I agree with you completely LEAVE A-ROD ALONE.

I am tired of holier than thow attitude towards players and PEDS. How many writers were writers during the 1990′s?
Heres a start:
Olney
Gammons
Stark
Skip Bayliss
Lupica
O’Connor
Klapisch
Buckley
Neyer
The list goes on and on.
I dont want to hear one thing about steroids coming out of any of their mouths. They failed us the fans, 15 years ago. They either willfully hid the information from the public or were just to clueless to do their job. You had McGuire and andro in his locker, you had Canseco’s book, and you had Ken Caminiti saying at least 50% of the players were on steroids.
The proof was all around them, yet they ALL buried there heads in the sand. They are all terrible, none of them no how to to their job.

This appears to be a story looking for substance. I don’t see where A-Rod has any exposure in this issue. Keep in mind, however, that A-Rod has nobody to blame for getting dragged into this dubious speculation other than himsef. Had he not taken PEDs, lied about then got caught it would matter. But, he’s a big boy and at 30 mil a year he can take it.
On the other hand, .. as a Yankee fan, after the performancde of last season a little PED controvercey might just help him focus on baseball and shun the limelight. That worked pretty sweet last year. I wonder what Kate Hudson is doing this summer?

There goes the “objective” media again. Making the story about A-Rod when it’s clearly not about A-Rod. Beltran will be interveiwed as well.
That’s two prominent Mets in the past week that have had direct contact with Galea himself. But of course it’s about A-Rod, who’s only connection to the guy is the fact that Mark Lindsay, who managed his rehab and was recommended by Marc Phillipon, and approved by the Yankees.
