His best year or years were with Texas, which the last time I checked was in the AL.
Other than Dusty’s obsession with useless veterans, I can’t think of one good reason for the Reds to be interested in Matthews. They have Bruce, Stubbs, Dickerson, Nix, and Gomes, with Heisey and maybe Frazier right behind them.
