The voters in Mesa appear to have little to say about it. This is being handled at the state level.

Incidentally, if you happen to live out there on Dessication Row, I read here in The Journal of Irreproducible Results that the horned toads are disappearing. Better not walk around barefoot.

You think the Cubs will wait 30 years before asking for a new stadium? HoHoKam was built 13 years ago!! Instead of paying $20 bucks in Cub Tax next year, I’m going to donate it to whoever is running against this John McComish clown. Hopefully the voters in Mesa vote this crap down.

This whole mess was Bud Selig and John McCain’s idea, so don’t blame us.
I didn’t vote for the guy, but McCain said that the Cubs fans make up 50% of all the fans who travel to AZ each spring. Make no mistake- THIS IS A CUB FAN TAX. Sorry that you Laverne, Potsy, and the 14 fans of the Diamondbacks have to kick in a couple of bucks. We’re doing the heavy lifting (as usual) to keep the Cactus League viable.

What else would you expect from the Cubs, Baseball’s most PRECIOUS franchise, with the most SPORTSMANLIKE and KNOWLEDGABLE fans. Aren’t they just ADORABLE, whether it’s scalping tickets to their own fans or charging little kids to stand on Waveland to catch fouls.
The only solace that the rest of us NL Central fans have is that, despite the bottomless well of Flatlander money that gets thrown at their roster, they will continue to lose–not that it makes much difference to Scooter from Naperville with the popped collar and the other REAL Cubs fans who occupy that museum of a ballpark.
Yes, I’m bitter.

Multi million dollar team owners parasitically leaching off the wallets of taxpayers for their facilities makes me sick. Arizona should ask the cubs to not let the door hit them in the ass when they leave. It’ll take 30 years to cover the price tag? Wow, then it’ll be time for another stadium won’t it?
