An interleague series on at any given time? That’d be fine with me. I know some folks don’t care much for interleague play but, aside from NL fans having to endure the tedium of designatedhitterball every so often, the idea of fans in any city getting a chance to see all the stars of the game regardless of the league of the resident team can’t hurt the game in any way that I can see. I’d like to see Joe Mauer play in Macondo, and the Feesh’s infield play wouldn’t seem to smell as bad in the boreal grip of that fresh Minny air.

Further expansion would just dilute the talent pool even further. The only advantage to it I could see is that MLB could offer the Player’s Association 50 more permanent job slots per year in return for scrapping that soporific obscenity known as the DH. On that basis, I could be talked into it.

Then you’d have 15 teams in each league, so you’d have to have an interleague game each day, or you’d need to have a team take off every day.

The Feesh now have an all but millennial obligation to Macondo to provide a revenue stream to pay off their part of Banana Massacre Field. MLB just invested a small fortune in moving the Gnats to Washington from Montreal (remember Montreal?) and developing a new stadium there. Peetsburgh is one of the oldest and most tradition-encrusted franchises in baseball. None of ‘em are going anywhere. Moving Houston to the AL West makes much more sense since it’s the cheapest and easiest solution, and that division lacks a bona fide patsy. Even so, with all of its fouled air and water, I hate to see the designated clubber inflicted on Houston or, for that matter, on any other unsuspecting city.

Expand by two teams? Get rid of teams is more like it. You send Milwaukee back to the AL and ax the Marlins, Pirates, or Nationals.

Always nice to have criticisms without suggestions. I used to get paid to point out problems, and not to suggest solutions, and yes, it is fun. The problem with evening it out is that you need to find two more cities to expand in.

Well the AL and NL either need to be lopsided or their needs to be interleague play all season long.
