The Sox are signing the two guys to minor league deals, and with Schoeneweis there’s an April 15 opt-out clause. These are no-risk deals for the Sox that might produce their number 2 left-hander in the bull-pen. They still have 3 number 1 starters at the top of the rotation and a very deep bull-pen.

Y’all are reaching. Making fun of the 12th pitcher on a staff is quite easy. Make a list of the last bullpen guy for every ML team and it’ll be ugly. The Red Sox have the best pitching staff in the majors, if the offense sputters, Adrian will be around at the deadline. Lastly, Daiske (nibbles more than Marv Albert) has definitely been a bust so far but half of that signing was marketing. They will get their money back plus, if they haven’t already.

The Bosox are so thrilled with their pitching , they’re trying to salvage another aging pitcher from the scrapheap. You have to be running scared with your pitching to make the moves they’re making. I could of sworn I heard them talk about their so-called run prevention. I agree with another writer who predicts third or fourth place. Maybe they should spend another 50 million + for another Japanese import like Matsusaka (The Pillsbury Doughboy) that was a brilliant move. If the Doughboy gets in shape, meaning laying off the saki and donuts, he might keep his era under six + this year.
