He only has to be put on the 40 man roster and can be assigned to the minors, he doesn’t have to clear waivers for that. He still has some options left that would keep him with the Dodgers without being with the big league team.

Actually, the line is, “What we have here…is failure…to communicate.” No “a”. From one of the greatest movies ever.
Getting back to the subject–I never understand why so many players have “visa issues”. It’s not as if they don’t know when they have to be in camp, so as soon as you get back to the Dominican/Venezuela/Mexico/Panama/Nicaragua/Colombia/etc. in October, just get the darned thing DONE!

Yeah, I think that reporting to camp 35 days late gives them plenty of cause to stick him on the restricted list.
The weirdest part about all of this is that Belisario’s agent admitted that he missed appointments, and now Belisario claims that he didn’t.

Ok, that makes sense. I didn’t know they could do that if he was actually in camp. If they can, that’s the way to go.

Actually, they’re planning on putting him on the restricted list – essentially suspended without pay. They can do that for up to 30 days, after which he would have to be put on the 25 man roster or released.

He won’t be on the 25 man roster, they can’t option him, and he won’t clear waivers. [Gazes in to crystal ball] I see elbow tendinitis!
