I don't want to pile on Maybin this early in the season but he seems to flourish as a late season callup. Last season he played creditably but the year before that he was the September terror, crushing everything in sight and making one great rundown catch after another out in center. Then he came out of the gate last season like the racehorse in The Godfather, if you know what I mean, and wound up back down on the farm with the Eloi and the Morlocks as his less toolful teammates disappeared one at a time to be processed for ethanol. He usually has an impressive spring training - this is the third year in a row he can claim March props. In a 2008 spring game with the Orioles I saw him fist a double off the left center field fence and got as excited about him as...as...well, as a certain unnamed blogger gets about another EYP currently on his shakedown cruise for Atlanta. Who knew he would be last season's Titanic?
.
It would do Maybin a world of good if the season started in September. And why not? They'll be playing in winter in Minneapolis in September anyway.

I'm an Angels fan, so I have watched GMJ the last three years.
I would say not only to stock up on antacids, I'd buy stock in the antacid company. Matthews is terrible in the outfield. Absolutely terrible.
Have fun!
