Gettin’ a little misty in Chez Shyster. A tweet from the Royals’ Billy Butler a few minutes ago:
Didn’t get the win
in the end but I’m glad my Grandpa Butler got to watch me one last
time on TV. RIP grandpa. I i love ya & will miss ya.
Grandpa Butler left the Earth after seeing his grandson hit a two-out two-run single off one of the best pitchers in baseball in front of a packed house.

Wow……I’m a lifelong Tiger fan, but this one made me cry, too. So glad Grandpa got to see Billy get that hit. Have a great season, Billy.

That’s very sweet and sad. I’m glad he got to see his grandson do something like that.

I happened to actually be at this game yesterday and I didn’t realize the significance of this event that I saw until I just now read about it. My sympathies to Billy Butler and RIP to his grandfather.

Billy played ball on our travel team years ago. He went to Cooperstown with us to play ball. I met his Grandfather then. Billy could hit when he was 12 years old. His grandpa was very proud of him. God Bless
