Got this via Neyer: the Astros’ turn-back-the-clock promotion this weekend is going to be sweet. In addition to going back to what were some pretty nifty uniforms (no, not the rainbow ones), the team is going to put the grounds crew and ushers in 1960s garb too, and that 1960s garb was pretty unique. The usherettes look like the waitresses at the beginning of “2001,” and I could not love it more.
If only HAL became the announcer for the evening: “Please direct your attention to left-field for the hot-dog race, Dave.”
