A very cool first pitch in San Francisco

Apr 9, 2010, 5:45 PM EDT

It’s the Giants home opener this afternoon, and they don’t skimp on the pageantry. For example, this pic of the opening festivities is about as baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet as you can get.  And then there was the first pitch, which I missed, but which was described thusly by the Merc’s Andrew Baggarly

Jerry Rice just
threw out the Giants ceremonial first pitch to Steve Young. Then Young dropped back and heaved
it to Rice, who caught it.

The only thing that could have made that cooler is if it was Joe Montana who threw it while Steve Young waited patiently, biding his time on the sidelines.

Where the hell does somebody store a flag that large?

HAHAHAHA ….. Craig you just witnessed your 2nd Golden Sombrero of your life and it was the future Mays/DiMaggio that gave you that privilege.

So you’re a complete moron, right? Or did you not read my response to your post the other day about the Mays/DiMaggio thing? You know, where I explained to you how that was sarcasm and only an idiot would compare a 20 year-old kid to Hall of Famers with a straight face? And you’ve missed the multiple other times in the past two weeks when I’ve said that Heyward is going to have a hard time once pitchers start challenging him and that he’d, in all likelihood, end the season with an average at best stat line?
Or are you just a jerk?

and let’s not leave out the possibility that he is a moron AND a jerk. The two are not mutually exclusive. Don’t let these jokers get under your skin, Craig…we are just jealous and wish we made a living doing what you do.
